Ana Lain [Ana_fmd], School Innovation Manager for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, snapped a few photos of the first exams being held for Microsoft Certification at the C. G. Argan School in Rome.
Thanks to the voucher campaign, students and teachers are able to obtain two types of certification: Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), which is also valid as university credits and for public calls, and the Microsoft Technology Associate (Mta), which attests knowledge of IT competences that can be used on the job market.

Nineteen students involved in the project are currently taking the final examination to receive the Microsoft Certification. In the photo, Giorgia, a student and future architect at Argan, smiles after having passed the exam.

The campaign promoted by Microsoft and Telecentre Europe in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Tesi Automazione aims to perfect and certify the competences of students and support their entry into the working world with 1000 vouchers. Based on the data from June, the teachers and students were enthusiastic about this initiative, a fact that further underlines the strong need for further education and training.

The collaboration is an integral part of the YouthSpark Initiative. It is the result of a long-term partnership between Microsoft and Telecentre-Europe to support youth employment and address the lack of technological skills in the workforce. The certifications are provided via the Microsoft IT Academy Programme that in the last 12 months has awarded 1.4 million certifications to students around the world.
