Project DisAbuse: Disablist Bullying - Experience into Change, Providing the Right Support Services (Erasmus+ Programme) has developed an Educator’s Manual, a guide for holding a complete course for individuals with special educational needs and disabilities, to help prevent and contrast bullying at school and at work.
The objective of the six-module course is to provide participants with knowledge and competences to face any form of bullying. More specifically, the course focuses on:
- Understanding various forms of bullying and how it differs from conflict;
- Understanding cyber-bulling and how it occurs;
- Understanding relational bullying and how it occurs in closed environments;
- Understanding the relation between bullies, victims and witnesses to reach the awareness that bullying is related to group dynamics;
- Learning to react to acts of bullying and help others;
- Learning how to increase self-esteem and trust oneself;
- Acquiring problem-solving strategies to overcome daily difficulties;
- Understanding the basic right that everyone has to denounce violence.

Moreover, anyone interested in learning more about this issue, can apply to participate in the course focusing on Contrasting Bullying, with a particular focus on disabilities, using the Lego® Serious Play® Method.
The free course (four meetings in Rome, February 2 – March 9, 2019) is for individuals with disabilities, aged 15 and over, who can either participate alone or with a teacher, coach, psychologist or other type of educator.
