Nicola D’Agostino, Mayor of Vibo Valencia, will open the works of the round table that will be held on Sept. 19, 10:30 am at the town hall. Nicolino La Gamba, Institutional Affairs Councillor for Vibo Valentia and President of the “Vibo Vale” Association of Municipalities has also been promoting the initiative.
The objective of the meeting, which includes the participation of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, is to promote the emergence of robotics as a didactic tool in Italian schools and discuss the actions that will be undertaken to promote educational robotics in Calabria, starting from the city of Vibo Valentia.
The day will be dedicated to presenting the participating subjects and the definition of roles and will be followed by the local development phase. Pasquale Melis will manage the project, which has been made possible thanks to an agreement with con Azienda Calabria Lavoro, an in-house agency of the Regione Calabria. Besides Vibo Valentia and the “Vibo Vale” Association, other participants include: Claudio De Martini, Deputy Rector of the Politecnico di Torino; Arturo Baroncelli, Premio Engelberger COMAU; Enzo Marvaso, Coordinator of the Robotics in School Network and member of the Coordination Team for Multi-Sectoriality in Educational Robotics, and Alfonso Molina, Professor at the University of Edinburgh and Scientific Director of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
Senator Francesco Bevilacqua and School Department Manager Prof. Vito Primerano will be present at the event together with various other headmasters from local schools.
