The course on innovation for Italian School Headmasters (Corso PON DS Dirigenti scolastici – Dirigere l’innovazione) begins today – Tuesday, December 7 – at IIS V. Capirola in Brescia. The eighteen-hour course is part of the National Plan for Digital School.

 

The first lab workshop (2:30-6:30 pm) will be held by Mauro Del Santo, Fab Lab Coordinator at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym, which also holds courses on Design Thinking as a method to resolve problems through innovative solutions.

 

 

 

Mauro Del Santo

Mauro is specialised in Product Design and Innovative Production Technology. Since 2015, he serves as Designer and Coordinator at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale Fab Lab at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym, where he develops educational activities for schools based on digital manufacturing and practical design with the Design Thinking Method.

In 2003, he opened a design studio and collaborated with important companies and institutions, including IED, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, City of Rome, Italian Ministry of Defence, Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Selex, UNHCR, ENI and Hertz. His projects have received international recognitions, including a selection for the “Compasso d’Oro” Award and Design of Excellence in Lazio. He also founded the UnSolid Brand producing illumination products that exploit digital manufacturing and 3D printers.

Since 2005, he has taught design, prototyping and materials technology at IED in Rome, Sapienza University and Nairobi University.
