To date, 2 million individuals have been involved in the training and professional requalification actions implemented as part of “Ambizione Italia #DigitalRestart,” the Microsoft initiative aiming to support the recovery and growth of Italy through digital tools. Out of these 2 million participants, half have participated in activities during the last seven months, allowing the company to reach its objective of training 3 million citizens by September 2022.

This important result was communicated yesterday at the Microsoft Skilling event on “New Skills to Drive Italian Development,” a day dedicated to the initiatives of Microsoft Italia and its partners to promote the diffusion of digital skills. The appointment closes the Microsoft Skilling Weeks, a two-week marathon with training sessions and workshops dedicated to artificial intelligence, data analysis, app development and the cloud, as well as cybersecurity and business applications. High school and university graduates, professionals and students are given access to content and information on courses they can take to update their skills and practically learn how to use Microsoft business solutions.

“Ambizione Italia for Youth” organised in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and that has been extended to Milan Rovigo and the Basilicata Region was also presented.

After an initial educational phase that involved work orientation centres (COL) in Rome, the City of Bari with Porta Futuro, the council job centre, and the City of Palermo, Ambizione Italia for Youth will also be held in Milan in collaboration with the City Council, in Rovigo in collaboration with the Urban Digital Centre, and in Basilicata in Partnership with the Chamber of Commerce.

The project, which was created through the consolidated collaboration between Microsoft Italia and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, provides a training course for local training and skilling initiatives. This is a strategic initiative to intercept the young men and women, as well as citizens in general, who need to explore new professional opportunities to successfully join the labour market.

The programme addresses centre operators, who receive training on the use of digital tools for orientation, job search and self-promotion, even on-line, and the final users, individuals in search of employment who can access modular training sessions at various levels and for various profiles to provide skills for a wide range of necessities. The courses are free and include different levels. They are held proximately or on-line (synchronously or asynchronously).
