Due appuntamenti per orientarsi nel futuro professionale con Roma capitale Digitale

Digital skills and work

Digital skills and work

Two events to help navigate your professional future with Roma Capitale Digitale

Just yesterday, in Rome, the Department for Digital Transformation presented the results and outlook for the national strategy as part of the Digital Republic initiative, during the event Italy’s digital skills network. The picture that emerges is clear: Italy is strengthening an ever-expanding network of public, private and third-sector actors committed to training and digital inclusion, but the gap remains significant. Just over half the population possesses basic digital skills, compared to a European target of 80% by 2030.

At the same time, there is a growing awareness that digital skills are no longer a specialist field, but a prerequisite for work, participation and access to services. It is along these lines that, in recent years, hundreds of initiatives have been launched across the country, reaching millions of citizens.

It is within this context that the activities of the Digital Facilitation Centres of the Roma Capitale Digitale project take place, with a new series of training sessions designed to support citizens in building their own career paths.

Two sessions to understand the present and build the future

Two online webinars dedicated to developing digital skills for work are scheduled for April, aimed particularly at students and jobseekers. A concrete opportunity to find one’s bearings in a constantly changing market, where technical and soft skills are increasingly intertwined.

The programme, entitled “Digital skills to build your career path”, is divided into two complementary sessions.

15 April 2026 | 5.00 pm – 6.30 pm

The world of work today: skills and professional roles

An initial overview to understand the changes taking place, with a focus on:

  • the main professional roles related to digital technology
  • the technical skills required
  • the soft skills that are increasingly central to contemporary work contexts

22 April 2026 | 5.00 pm – 6.30 pm

Personal branding and digital tools for work

A more practical session, dedicated to tools and strategies for actively seeking opportunities:

  • building a personal brand
  • effective use of LinkedIn (profile, networking, content)
  • digital tools for job hunting
  • platforms for identifying professional opportunities

Skills for finding your way, tools for taking action

Digital skills today are not just about using tools, but about the ability to actively participate in social and economic life, developing critical thinking, autonomy and awareness.

The two sessions, led by Roberta Moretti, form part of the wider work of the Digital Facilitation Centres, which support people not only in accessing services, but also in developing skills useful for life and work.

From this perspective, digital technology becomes a concrete lever for enhancing employability and reducing disparities, in line with the priorities of the national strategy for digital skills and with the networking promoted by Repubblica Digitale.
