Italian Fashion and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale  Digital Made Project participated in the Re-Barcelona Sustainable Fashion Global Event thanks to the Consulate General of Italy. On Friday and Saturday, the Disseny Hub in Barcelona hosted the first edition of the event [see news: Ethical Fashion].

Gaia Danese, Italian Consul General in Barcelona, is committed to promoting the most innovative and creative cultural industries. “The challenge represented by sustainability and innovation is essential for industry as a whole, but it is particularly important for the creative industries, where it drives change. And Italy is at the forefront in this challenge, thanks to its historical know how and cultural soft power. Italians are active in this context around the world, in cutting-edge dynamic cities like Barcelona, as key figures in the creative and sustainable economy.

The Atypical Collection by Federico Cesino and Anna Coppola (the project which won the Smart Bride Section) and Hypernova by Carmen Moffa (project selected for the Smart Bride Section), which had been designed for the Digital Made Contest promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, were showcased in the Open Space. The showcase area, entitled "Conscious Space Beyond," was open to the public on November 29-30 to promote awareness and critical reflection on “a society that is constantly looking for ethical and sustainable alternatives in the field of fashion.”

Matteo Viscogliosi, designer, maker and Fab Lab Coordinator at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym presented Project Digital Made and the For Young Fashion Talents Contest. The deadline for the contest has been extended to December 7, 2019 [see notice].
