Digital Emotions

Fifteen over-60s from the Villaggio Olimpico Elderly Centre in Rome and 15 students from the Liceo Lucrezio Caro met yesterday for the first time in the school’s computer lab for Project Going Digital.

The first computer lesson for true beginners, many of whom had never even turned a PC on, soon became an intense exchange of emotions and experiences amongst generations.

Asya experienced the drama of an earthquake together with her “students” who wanted to virtually return to places that have now been lost forever.

Gabriele, instead, helped Mr. Angelo to view the Monte Cervino, where he had experienced a fantastic expedition over fourty years ago.

In these video interviews with Eleonora Curatola, some of the protagonists explain the emotions and difficulties of their first lesson.

Next Monday, Going Digitalwill be at IIS Croce-Aleramo in Rome with over-60s from the Colli Aniene and Nuovo Primo MaggioElderly Centers.
