Defeating the Phobocracy

Defeating the Phobocracy

Defeating the Phobocracy

The final event of Project Factor J, which will be held on Monday, May 17 at 3 pm, marks the beginning of a new challenge to reaffirm our trust in science. Hundreds of students will participate in a Creative Jam, collaborating in six digital rooms representing the six therapeutic areas of the year: haematology, neurosciences, infectious diseases, dermatology, gastroenterology and pulmonary hypertension.

The six teams, tutored by Fondazione Mondo Digitale coaches, operators and experts from the patient associations and Janssen employees, will work on an Instagram campaign to defeat the phobocracy (the dominion of fear).

At the end of the creative sessions, there will be a plenary session with pitches, the real-time evaluation of the ideas and an awards ceremony. Moreover, the event will serve to present the results of a research project conducted on the trust in science of young people conducted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale with the support of the Department of Political Economics and Statistics at the University of Siena.

Factor J, which is promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with Janssen Italia, the pharmaceutical branch of the  Johnson & Johnson Group, in collaboration with eight patient associations and the support of the Rome Campus Bio-Medico University, has create a large national network to educate youth to develop emotional intelligence, respect and empathy towards patients, reaching 100,000 young men and women in twelve months. This is an important social operation, with the patronage of the Insitute of Higher Health, that has promoted cultural and mental changes in the new generations, from empathy to trust in research and science.
