Starting today, a small delegation of professors chaperoned by Illaria Graziano, Project Manager at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, will meet in Helsinki for a transnational educational workshop that will be held by the Italian Provincial Adult Education Centres (CPIA) [see news School is for Everyone] as part of Ideal, a two-year project that will provide orientation and education for teachers and trainers from around Europe on the use of ICT tools for adult education. In Italy, the project is coordinated by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and will address immigrants and refugees without ICT skills.
The transnational workshop (Oct. 10-14) will bring together a delegation of teachers and trainers from each of the six partner countries [see programme]. Moreover, the third transnational partner project meeting will also be held to assess the activities of IDEAL - Integrating Digital Education in Adult Literacy and its intellectual achievements.
CPIA 2 has specific experience in this sector and will hold a workshop on “Gaming and Social Tools for Basic Skills: Practices and Experiences with Adult Immigrants". Anna Uttaro, Rosalba Palermo and Cristiano Sabbatini will illustrate the contribution of gamification and social networking tools for adult education, both in formal and non-formal contexts, through apps (Kahoot, Padlet, Mindomo, Blendspace and Edmodo). Expression and creativity will be stimulated with Evernote, Edpuzzle, ThingLink and Scratch.
In the video, Prof Anna Uttaro explains how they organized the workshop to simulate a real lesson and reveal the efficiency of digital tools for the adult education of foreigners. The interview is conducted by Cecilia Stajano.
