The Grandparents on the Internet pilot course managed by the Marco Gavio Apicio Hotel Management School in Anzio, is a first and completely dedicated to retired military and especially navy personnel. Thus, these retired captains took a first jab at surfing the web, discovering similarities and differences with maritime navigation!
This has been an interesting course that has uncovered the interests of a yet “unexplored” category. Although it had received a high profile technical education, at the time, many never had the opportunity to learn about the web.
The protagonists tell Cecilia Stajano, who manages school innovation for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, about this experience.
Prof. Emilia De Santis, who has taught languages at the school since 2002, explains how the students faced their first teaching challenge.
