Even IIS G.B. Vico in Naples, the school coordinated by Headmistress Maria Clotilde Paisio, is getting ready to join the National Network of Phyrtual Innovation Gyms dedicated to coding. The hub will be staffed by the Coding Girls, prepared by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, as has already happened for the Liceo Peano in Monterotondo in the Province of Rome [see news: Coding at the Digital Café].
The first activity will be a school-work programme based on education and programming held by Phyrtual Innovation Gym Coach Lara Forgione with help from tutor Lucia Cimimo, a student at the Università degli Studi di Salerno. The school-work programme, coordinated by Professors Nello Grisolia, Monica Esposito and Maria Rosaria Pizzonia, involves a year three class in the linguistic programme.
The experience is based not only on the acquisition of technical content ranging from Scratch to App Inventor, but also the development of transversal skills ranging from problem solving to leadership, to promote the development of peer educational skills.
