Project TIB RO-LAB took first place with RoLAB - Rome Live Art Lab, promoted by the United States Embassy in Rome [see news: Rome Live Art Lab]. Now, students at IIS Majorana-Pisano in Guidonia Montecelio (Rome) have embarked on a new challenge: the transformation of their old school desks (abandoned due to the medical emergency). Operations are organised into seven phases plus a conclusion: accumulation, layout, variation, alteration, objet trouvé, representation, graffiti. Each operation is described specifically.
Roberto Ianigro, Professor of Drawing and Art History is responsible for the project idea, supervision and artistic direction.
Double Desk Trib[ut]e is an open-air didactic installation developed at the school (Via Roma 298, Guidonia). The project focuses on desks as the objects and tools of a story that, starting from art history, explores transversal connections. Students also have the opportunity to leave a sign, a trace of their presence by performing an action that is usually not allowed: writing or drawing on the desks.
The open-air classroom with 24 installations will be inaugurated on Thursday, March 4.
