Building Robots

Davide Aloisi is one of the coaches for the “Robotic Afternoons” at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym, cooperative labs to help participants prepare for RomeCup 2017.

Davide will help the young engineers build rescue robots with a Lego NXT Kit, programme them and practice for the Rescue Category until RomeCup2017.

The objective of the lab, in fact, is to provide students with basic programming concepts for Lego Mindstorm and allow them to create autonomous robots that can overcome obstacles and barriers.

Robotic Afternoons address the following points:

  • Sensors
  • Programming sensors
  • Motors and programming motors
  • Use of IF, FOR and WHILE commands
  • Creation of robots from individual components

Once all these notions are acquired, students are ready to compete in RomeCup with their robot.

In the video: Gabriele (11) and Flavio (10) explain what happens during our Robotic Afternoons.
