At the 12th national Educare alle Differenze meeting, we shared the SPARK project, insights from school communities and upcoming training opportunities.
With more than thirty associations from across Italy, the meeting created space to share tools, practices and experiences, strengthening an educational community ready to begin the new school year through new partnerships.
These questions are already part of classroom life
In the event’s Piazza space, we presented the poster “SPARK – Building confidence and capacity across the school community: from research to training”. SPARK is an Erasmus+ project bringing together eight partners across five European countries to equip practising and pre-service teachers, school leaders and parents with the confidence and skills to support high-quality CSE. Vittoria Bernardini, project officer, attended the event on behalf of Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
The poster brings together two strands of evidence: Italy’s still-fragmented CSE landscape and the experiences shared by primary school communities. Interviews with school leaders and focus groups with practising teachers, pre-service teachers and parents point to the need for stronger preparation, age-appropriate resources and a shared framework connecting schools and families. The Piazza also gave us an opportunity to hear further perspectives and explore the skills needed to deliver CSE in primary education as we prepare to launch the SPARK training.
From research into practice
The SPARK training pathways turn research findings into practical, evidence-based tools. They will connect knowledge with real-life situations, helping the adults around children develop consistent, age-appropriate responses suited to their educational roles.
Launching in autumn 2026, the pathways will be open to primary school teachers, pre-service primary teachers, school leaders and parents. The programme will combine self-paced online learning with live online and face-to-face sessions focused on peer exchange, real-world cases and hands-on activities. The Teaching Resource Bank will also provide educational materials organised by topic and learning need.
