The "bamboccioni" phenomenon is not exclusively Italian explains Tullio De Mauro. The first bamboccioni or Neets (Not in education, employment or training) were identified during the 1990s in Japan and the United Kingdom, where the acronym was invented. Today, there are about two million Italian Neets aged 15-29.
