Class 3B from the Istituto tecnico commerciale Emanuela Loi in Nettuno is working with artist Francesco Bianco to develop a work of art to exhibit for the Media Art Festival.
The class is developing an interactive sound installation that employs human emotions and an Arduino Chipset. Working on our feeling of existence, passions and fears, the class has searched Dante’s Divine Comedy for phrases used by the poet to describe these sentiments. These quotes are then recorded, mixed and integrated with sounds that will become the voice of the installation, which will utter words, thanks to the Arduino chipset, as visitors stroll past it.
Francesco Bianco’s Lab is part of Project European Light Expression Network which aims to promote art education, enlarge its audinece and create new synergies amongst artists, schools, students, local institutions and artistic and cultural enterprises.
