A motorist, a tailor, a barman, a hairdresser, a welder and a secretary … These are just some of the professions of the retirees participating in Project Amongst Generations. United for Work, which kicks off today in Brindisi, at IIS E. Palumbo, the school directed by Maria Oliva. Classroom activities will be coordinated by Professors Leopoldo Poso and Roberto Aluzzi. The average age of the retirees is 68.
This year, the new edition of Amongst Generations. United for Work, a project created by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and CNA Pensionati, also features the collaboration of Facebook Italy. The objective is to train adults to use new technology and allow students to enjoy new work opportunities. The intergenerational learning formula involves 8 schools in 4 Italian Regions: Lombardy, Umbria, Marche and Puglia.
School students will act as facilitators and guide the CNA retirees through the world of technology and the Internet, while the retired craftsmen will share their profound knowledge of their trades with the students and promote them in a digital perspective.
Riccardo Ciliberti, Regional Secretary, Puglia; Sonia Rubini, CNA Director in Brindisi, and Raffaella Quartulli will participate in the project kick off.
