Clearly, twelve photos cannot capture a whole year of activities, especially as the FMD and its staff was busy with 30 projects last year, both in Italy and abroad with international partnerships.
However, these 12 photos, one for each month, aim to capture the moments in which schools participated as protagonists, learning, sharing and exploring new learning environments.
JANUARY
The Nao humanoid robot arrives at the Robotics Centre as a counsellor to help high school students choose scientific university programmes.
FEBRUARY
The pilot edition of the Media Art Festival saw artists produce collaborative works with students.
MARCH
The ninth edition of the RomeCup was a great success. Roman Team Spqr was selected for the RoboCup Championship in China where it became world champion.
APRIL
Roman students participate in the New York “Data Bootcamp” during the Space Apps Challenge organised by NASA.
MAY
The Milan Expo turns pink with the female protagonists from around Italy for the 3rd edition of Pink Cloud.
JUNE
Annual appointment with “I Am There,” the solidarity football game held on World Refugee Day with students and asylum seekers.
JULY
“Grandparents on the Internet” arrives in Post Offices: a digital literacy pilot project in Italian postal offices with students teaching elders how to use computers and the Internet.
AUGUST
The first Summer School at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym: students participate in the labs organised at the Officina – New Jobs Workshop.
SEPTEMBER
The Phyrtual Innovation Gym Fab Lab meets with students of all ages at the “Biennale dell’Eresia” in Orvieto.
OCTOBER
The Global Junior Challenge becomes a party for a new type of school. Students participate also as reporters.
NOVEMBER
“Coding Girls” returns with another exciting all-female hackathon with schools in Rome and Naples.
DECEMBER
“Ethnic Enterprise Goes Social” – an educational event for adult education with provincial adult education centres.
