Ideas for the empowerment of young women from school to work
Room to Read, an organisation that is active around the world promoting the empowerment of young women and girls, has organised for October 11 – the International Day of the Girl Child – a conference to discuss gender equality in education and promote the employability of young women.
The Skills for Life event (October 14-15) at the Rome Cavour Congress Centre will involve representatives from the institutions and school, gender and education experts, and organisations working to build bridges between the education of young women and work opportunities as adults.
Speakers, amongst others, include Roberto Ricci, President, Istituto Invalsi; Giuseppe Bagni, President, Centro di Iniziativa Democratica degli Insegnanti; Valeria Fedeli, former Italian Education, University and Research Minister; Linda Laura Sabbadini, Director, Istat; Cristina Scocchia, CEO, Illycaffè; and Susanna Camusso, Senator, Partito Democratico.
