Yesterday, the twelve Saharawi children - 6 girls and 6 boys – celebrated their arrival in Rome at the Santa Beatrice School (via di S. Beatrcie 15), where they will reside until August 29.
Workers and volunteers of the Social Promotion Association “Bambini+Diritti” Onlus, along with the school’s professors and Headmaster Clara Simeone, municipal and provincial councillors, the representatives of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and their many young Italian friends were present to welcome them.
During the course of the next two months, the children will undergo medical checkups and experience a profoundly different reality from what they are used to – the Algerian desert. They will take part in workshops and games and recount their experience as members of people living in exile from over 35 years.
