Distance Rehabilitation at Home

Once again, the Università Campus Bio-Medico of Rome will participate in the RomeCup exhibition area, showcasing robotic rehabilitation.

Domenico Formica, who has a research grant at the Università Campus Bio-Medico in Rome, will present the newest version of CB Motus, a mechanical robot used for rehabilitation therapy with patients suffering from neuro-muscular pathologies.

CB Motus is not only a compact, low-cost and easily transportable machine that allows rehabilitation at home, but also records al movements and efforts made by the patient during a therapy session.

“At present, there are no commercial machines that can do this”, explains Domenico, “the university hospital is starting testing to allow therapists to conduct distance therapy sessions and evaluate patient progress.”
