Only a few more days until the multimedia lab at the San Demetrio Ne’ Vestini in the province of L’Aquila re-opens. The event, which will be celebrated next Saturday, December 12, at 11 am on the school premises, is a result of the call to action launched by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to ICT companies to develop labs and IT networks in the schools hit by the earthquake in Abbruzzo and provide all students in the region with equal opportunities.

Microsoft and Toshiba were among the first companies to respond and thanks to their precious contribution, on Saturday, the “Gianni Di Genova” multimedia lab will be re-opened. Moreover, students from the third year will become digital tutors and show their parents and grandparents how to make the most of the web and computers.

The following personalities will be present at the inaugural event:
  • Silvano Cappelli, Mayor of San Demetrio Né Vestini
  • Lucia Di Giulio, School Adminstrator
  • Mirta Michilli, Director General, Fondazione Mondo Digitale
  • Natasha Perfetti, Marketing & Communication Manager, Toshiba
  • Carlo Iantorno, Director for Innovation and Social Responsibility, Microsoft

The students will be coordinated by Professor Gianluca d’Ignazio who is responsible for new technologies at the school.
