Unesco: 400 Initiatives Teach How to Recycle

The Education Week for Sustainable Development, which will be held in Italy from November 10 to 16, is organized and under the patronage of the Unesco National Italian Commission.

“Reduction and Recycling of Waste” is the focus of this initiative promoting environmental safeguarding in the context of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development 2005-2014.

More than 400 initiatives are planned to raise awareness on waste prevention, promote more efficient forms of recycling and create a fairer and more sustainable society respecting the planet. The campaign, now in its third edition, will involve hundreds of students, associations, entrepreneurial representatives and institutions.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale will participate in the Unesco Week with the Campaign for Recycling used office PCs: Don't throw me away ... there's mail for me at the Elderly centre.

Three Roman schools - Itis G. Armellini, Itis B. Pascal and Sms P. Stefanelli – will open their Recycling Laboratories for four days on November 12, 14, 26 and 28 November from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm and provide didactic laboratories on recycling techniques for the re-using old PCs.
