Electronic Waste - Today at Ecomondo

In November, two weeks will be dedicated to raising awareness, informing and educating citizens on the reduction of waste materials (preventing productions and minimizing waste quantities).

The first week is coordinated nationally, but with an international slant, by the Italian National UNESCO Commission (Nov. 10-16, 2008) and will feature the participation of national institutions and associations including the National Waste Observatory, Federambiente, A21L and Legambiente.

The Second Week is European and coordinated by ACR+ (The European Association of Cities and Regions for Recycling and Sustainable Management of Resources) from Nov. 22-30, 2008.

22-30 November 2008 - European Week on Waste Reduction

Both of these initiatives will be presented during the course of Ecomondo, the 12th International Trade Fair on Material and Energy Recovery and Sustainable Development, which will be held in Rimini (Italy) from November 5-8, 2008, at the Federambiente stand.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale participates with the Campaign for Recycling used company PCs: Don't throw me away ... there's mail for me at the Elderly Centre.

Three Roman schools - Itis G. Armellini, Itis B. Pascal and Sms P. Stefanelli – will open their Recycling Laboratories for four days on November 12, 14, 26 and 28 November from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm and provide didactic laboratories on recycling techniques for the re-using old PCs.
