The Future is Now

Last Thursday, in the news on the schools that won the "In estate si imparano le STEM" Call published by the Ministry of Equal Opportunities, we wrote about the Istituto tecnico per il settore tecnologico G. Marconi in Campobasso, the school that presented Project “STEM: A Magical Summer” [see news: A Magical Summer].

Today, we turn to Project "The Future is Now," a summer school held at the Istituto comprensivo Piazza Winckelmann in Rome and organised by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

The course begins on Monday, Sept. 4 and will feature coding and robotics activities held by Valentina Gelsomini, a coach at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym.

Valentina will introduce the young students to Ozobot and its command syntax, teaching them how to develop a videogame with Scratch. And on Thursday, the children will be ready to compete in a mini hackathon.

The week will end with a Kodu Lab held by Andrea Morachioli. The next week will address coding, robotics and digital manufacturing with Federica Pellegrini and Matteo Viscogliosi.

The course is free for 20 participants aged 9-12.
