The Prodigy project in Reggio Calabria: regeneration and social innovation
Next Monday, 15 September, at 6 p.m., an important event is scheduled, involving citizens, public bodies and private companies. The initiative aims to discuss regional strategies for economic and social development, as part of the activities promoted by the European project Prodigy (Promoting Digital and Green Skills for Youth).
The meeting, which thanks to the collaboration with the Macramè Consortium and the Impronte a Sud project is being held in Reggio Calabria, a place that symbolises regeneration and social innovation, will feature a round table to address issues that are crucial for the future of the community. Participants will discuss the best strategies for building a collaborative ecosystem, promoting effective partnerships between local authorities and the public and private sectors. In this context, the synergy between vocational training and the needs of the labour market will be explored, with the aim of ensuring that skills development contributes directly to the growth and well-being of the region.
To make this synergy tangible, the meeting will also be an opportunity to illustrate the training offered by the PRODIGY project, which aims to bridge the gap between the skills of young people and the demands of the labour market.
During the event, the mission of the PRODIGY project and the training opportunities offered to young people will also be presented. The training courses, which are free and entirely online, are organised by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and lead to Esco and DigComp 2.2 certifications. They are reinforced by individual coaching and are divided into:
- Basic and advanced digital skills (20 hours per course)
- Cross-cutting course in green skills (15 hours)
- Professional courses in social media marketing, data analysis, sustainability management and web design (60 hours each)
‘The meeting represents a crucial moment for creating a shared vision for our territory. We believe that true sustainable development can only be achieved through a collective effort, in which institutions, businesses and citizens work together to transform local challenges into opportunities for growth,’ explains Giulia Melissari, focal point in Reggio Calabria for Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
‘The training programme offered by Fondazione Mondo Digitale as part of the Prodigy project is a concrete response to the needs discussed during the event. With Prodigy, we not only provide young people with cutting-edge digital and green skills, but we also make them active protagonists in the economic and social development of their own territory,’ adds project manager Annaleda Mazzucato.
