The Grandparents on the Internet lessons began right after the Christmas Holidays. New courses began in various schools. In the meantime, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale is at work on the new website.

 

The Thematic Weeks continue with their fourth appointment “Writing Creatively” and the “It’s All Another History” Workshop. The 5th Thematic Week is dedicated to “Learning Cooperatively” and features two seminars for teachers “Rediscovering the Practicing Community” and “The Children’s Network and Blended Didactics”.

 

The new Fondazione Mondo Digitale website goes on-line. At the Educational City, the 6th and 7th Thematic Weeks are dedicated to “Cinema and Multimedia” and “Equal Opportunities for All”. Mirta Michilli participates in the meeting on “DOnne e TEcnologie. Una DOTE per l'Italia” (Women and Technology. A New Dowry for Italy). The Recycling Campaign receives 150 PCs from the Italian Postal Service.

 

Digital Bridge: the first operational mission for Saharawi. The Special Sisal Award is presented for the Robodidactics project to the Istituto Von Neumann in Rome. The Robodidactics Seminar and the Italy Cup take place in Arcidosso (Grosseto). The Foundation presents the Robodidactics Project and the RomeCup2008.

 

It’s the Robodidactics week with the 2nd “RomeCup2008” Trophy at the Rome City Hall. At the Educational City, a seminar for teachers is held entitled “Roberta. Girls Discover Robotics”. The Quadraro Centre also hosts the 9th Thematic Week on “Multimedia Environments: Nature” and the “Studying is Sustainable” Project is presented. The Eurogoal for Solidarity is held at the Stadio Flaminio to support the e-Care Project. The “Everyone on Internet” is held in Rome with the 3rd Week for Digital Literacy. At the Biomedical Campus, Alfonso Molina presents the experience of the Foundation at the meeting of companies and universities. The sixth edition of Grandparents on the Internet is completed. Certificates are presented to all participants in the schools.

 
 

The Educational City hosts the final event of “Schools that teach and innovate by learning” with an exhibition fair showcasing the work of various schools. The FMD publishes its second volume on Innovation in Roman Schools featuring a further series of 20 didactic success stories. Learning Environment: 60 case studies go on-line documenting four years of didactic research in the schools of Rome. Centro Enea: courses are launched for the functional and digital literacy and provide Cils and Microsoft certifications. Education and health: the second transnational workshop promoted by Qec-Eran with the participation of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale is held in Lecce.

 

Digital Bridge: the Wilaya Digital School in Aaiun is launched. In July and August, Roman Holidays are organised for ten children from the Saharawi Refugee Camp. Rome receives a special mention by the “Comuni Ricicloni 2008” initiative in the “less waste” category for the “Don’t throw me away. There’s news for me at the Elderly Centre” Campaign. The Centro Enea presents its first graduates who have completed the Microsoft Digital Literacy certification course. Digital Bridge: the Città dell’Altra Economia hosts a round table on “Freedom for the Saharawi: Work in Progress”; while, at the Istituto Pio XII, a public event is held for the Saharawi children spending their summer vacation in Rome.

 

Digital Bridge: Bracciano hosts a photographic exhibition on the plight of the Saharawi.

 

Digital Bridge: the 2nd course is held at the Aaiun Wilaya. Centro Enea: two further digital literacy courses start. In Rome, the "Robodidactics Project Meeting” presents the results of two years experiments in sixteen schools of various countries. Digital Bridge: associations meet schools to create a common learning environment with Cameroon and Saharawi.

 

The “Studying is Sustainable” Project is launched. Centro Enea: hosts new courses in Arabic and Italian and two 12-hour crash courses.

Mirta Michilli participates in the 2nd European Meeting on iGovernment Interoperability.

Grandparents on the Internet: the 7th edition is launched as an exportable format; experimentation begins in Ireland, Spain, Romania and Belgium. In Lazio, pilot courses are held in Latina and Rieti.

Digital Bridge: the third phase of the project is kicked off in the schools of Rome.

 

Digital Bridge: operative mission in Cameroon. Fontem is on-line including hospitals and schools.

The Roman schools’ “Recycling Labs” participate in the Week of Education of Sustainable Development promoted by Unesco and the European Week on Waste Reduction coordinated by ACR+.

The Robodidactics Seminar for Teachers is held.

City-school: the appointment is in Barcelona for the “Transnational Seminar European Project”.

Integration Exchange in Brussels: policies for integration are compared at the third transnational workshop coordinated by Qec-Eran. Centro Enea guests meet the schools of Rome.

 

The Centro Enea hosts a 40-hour intensive course with the collaboration of Kpmg consultants.

A laptop on every desk: one of the three schools experimenting with the JumPC notebook for homework and schoolwork is in Rome.

Culture of Innovation and Participation: the meeting and debate is held in Rome to present the new publications edited by Alfonso Molina and Tullio De Mauro.
