Rome “Gazometro”: sixth edition of the Festival of Digital Vision and Culture
On July 13-16, the Rome “Gazometro” will once again host Videocittà, the festival conceived by Francesco Rutelli, with the creative direction of Francesco Dobrovich, that explores the most advanced forms of audio-visuals and digital language in the national and international cultural context. After the success of last year’s edition, which attracted over 15,000 visitors, this year’s edition will address Transition as a “shared process based on pragmatic and concrete decisions, making the festival a vehicle for ethical and civic values, too.”
Together with ENI, main partner, and contribution of MiC, Regione Lazio, the City of Rome and in collaboration with Anica, Videocittà will provide four days of artistic contamination, including immersive projects, videoart, debates, live music and AV performances that will place visitors at the centre of a collective experience that steps beyond the real world, into a digital one.
For the first time, this edition will feature an Agorà Expo, allowing professionals and creative companies to showcase their projects and products in a new area on the ground floor of Gazometro G3 and share their content and experience with visitors. Works will include a series of virtual reality shorts produced by RAI Cinema, the creation of leading national and international companies and creative Italian academies, as well as Still Life, a virtual reality artwork by Chiara Passa, organised by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with Meta.
