Can we recognise fake news? What criteria help us to identify a reliable source?

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is conducting a study on the state of the art of digital literacy and the understanding of new media amongst adults and adolescents in Italy, with particular reference to the issue of fake news.

The study is conducted as part of Project Enjoy the Internet Fully, promoted by Google to help teachers, students and parents enjoy the web and technology safely and responsibly.

The results will allow us to develop an educational module to reinforce digital competences amongst adults and adolescents, as well as their critical thinking to contrast the diffusion and impact of fake news.

This is why we need your help!

Click here to access the questionnaire dedicated to adults (20 years older and up) and help us collect information. It just takes five minutes!

We have also prepared a questionnaire for adolescents (14–19). Can you help us by sharing this with your classes and other students at your school? A better understanding of the framework will help us understand the educational needs of the students who, although digital natives, often do not have the tools and knowledge necessary to enjoy the Internet safely and responsibly.

The questionnaire for adolescents is available at the following link.

It would be a pleasure for us to include your school as one of our collaborators on this study and credit you for reaching the final results,

Thanks for all your help!
