Today and Tomorrow at Expo

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the Regione Lazio work together to promote the personal and entrepreneurial development of young men and women. On October 26-27, the Milan Expo will host the final appointment with the Global Youth Startup Awards 2015, the international contest that prizes the best innovation and social inclusion project developed by students around the world. Italy will be represented by the Project “Handy Hand” from the IIS Carlo e Nello Rosselli School in Aprilia.

 

Today and tomorrow, the Milan Expo will host the final appointment of the Global Youth Startup Awards 2015, the contest promoted by Hype in collaboration with EMGI and international partners to encourage youth enterprise and promote innovation in school. Five finalist teams from five countries (USA, Israel, Montenegro, Romania and Italy) will compete for the title in the “Innovation for the Elderly” Category. Italy will be represented by IIS Carlo e Nello Rosselli School in Aprilia with Project “Handy Hand,” a robotic prosthesis for individuals with motor disabilities that performs all the movements of a human hand. The project is also participating in Programme Meet No Neet, promoted by Microsoft and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to promote the competences necessary for youth to access the working world.

 

Today, October 26 ottobre, starting at 6 pm, the Regione Lazio Pavillion will celebrate the success of Italian young men and women and host a debate on the importance of promoting innovation and self-enterprise in school. Participants include Gian Paolo Manzella, Regione Lazio Councillor, Ana Lain, FMD School Innovation Manager, Amir Raveh, Director, Hype and Gabriele Caiazzo, the student from the IIS Carlo e Nello Rosselli School in Aprilia who designed the “Handy Hand”.

 

Tomorrow (5-8 pm), the Israeli Pavilion, will host the awards ceremony for the Youth Startup Competition. The five finalist teams will be called to present a speech on their innovation and social inclusion project to entrepreneurs and stakeholders who will test and evaluate the projects and proclaim the winning entrepreneurial idea.
