At the school on via F. Santi 65, in Rome, students in Class V D are very excited about the upcoming course for digital literacy for elders: TeleMouse. The project is promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Telecom Italia. In fact, some of the elders that will be attending the course really are the grandparents of these students.
Sixteen 10-year-olds, coordinated by their computer and maths teacher Nadia Polselli, and 11 elders are eager to get to work when the course starts at the beginning of February (12 meetings at 11:30 am).
Today the class has prepared the first Telemouse lesson by reviewing what was accomplished during last year’s course. Beatrice’s grandfather can’t wait to start and has bought a new suit for the course! Silvia, Fabio’s grandmother, has no knowledge whatsoever about computers and will have to start from scratch. Roberto, on the other hand, Valerio’s grandfather, already knows how to use a PC and could even become a tutoring grandparent!
