It’s lesson no. 13 of the Telemouse course, grandparents and tutors are working hard and enthusiastic about the initiative.
Roberto Cananzi, the coordinating teacher, is happy about how the course is going at his school: Ipsia Cattaneo.
“It’s an outstanding educational opportunity for my students who interact with an unusual reality,” explains Professor Cananzi. “It’s a new experience for them to be on the teachers’ side.”
“I though they were couch potatoes, instead they are very open-minded. Grandparents are not TV addicts, they like to experience new things,” adds Carlo, a student and course tutor.
Telemouse is a digital literacy project for over-sixties promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Telecom Italia. In Rome, the project involves nearly 60 schools and over 50 elderly centres with workstations that allow the elders to practice their new web skills even after the lessons.
