Teaching Foreigners with the Italian Constitution

Tullio De Mauro inaugurated the professional course for Italian language teachers at the Dante Alighieri Company.

“The Constitution is an extraordinarily clear juridical text that raises various problems of interpretation. In 1948, only a few were able to comprehend it. Then, over time, it has become clear and comprehensible to many, also thanks to the incredible effort made by its writers.”

Thus, linguist Tullio De Mauro, Professor of General Linguistics at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome and President of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, inaugurated the 18th Professional Training Course for Italian Language Teachers, held by the Società Dante Alighieri at the Palazzo Firenze in Rome.

The course, which will end on September 26, focuses on “Republican Italian: Italy and Italian sixty years after the Constitution”.
