Professor Emeritus Tullio De Mauro directed our organisation as President since its creation as the Consorzio Gioventù Digitale and promoted its transformation into the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in 2006.
Even after he stepped down as President, in 2011, he continued to follow our activities with affection and generosity, and always contributed to crucial events, sharing our same passion for our successes.
"I cannot explain in words the enormous respect I had for him. I always considered Tullio unique and I learned a lot from him. He will be sorely missed.” This is the first comment by FMD Director General Mirta Michilli upon learning about Professor Tullio De Mauro’s passing away.
"A wonderful person, always ready to lend a hand and accompany the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and my adventure in Italy,” is how Professor De Mauro is remembered by FMD Scientific Director Alfonso Molina.
