The educational alliance between partners grows stronger. For the 5th consecutive year, various partners will provide schools with a detailed programme on environmental education that entails an original methodology and integrated and collaborative work.
The Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei have confirmed their commitment to this programme along with Igeam-Equilibrio sostenibile, Arpa Lazio, 100 classi – Lazio Interscholastic Network for Scientific and Technological Culture, the National Antarctic Museum and the National Geo-Physics and Volcanology Institute).
The 2009-2010 school year will begin with challenging issues that students of all classes and types of schools will have to address. “Water and Food - A Global Challenge” is the theme proposed by the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei, also through the Scientific Theatre.
The Seismic Risk in the Area of Rome is the subject sponsored by the National Geo-Physics and Volcanology Institute.
Igeam will provide the schools with efficient tools to measure the ecological footprint and make sustainable choices in a reasoned and aware manner.
The 100 Classi Network, which devised the “extended press network”, is increasingly efficient at inspiring students to science and its stories.
Indeed, this was proven once again this morning, when at the Itis Armellini, students presented the projects they were involved in during the current academic year. Six schools participated in the event:
- Istituto comprensivo “Uruguay”, Roma
- Itis “Morosini”, Ferentino (Frosinone) – Itis Trafelli di Nettuno (Roma)
- 109° Circolo didattico “A. Santoro”, Roma
- Liceo “G. Braschi”, Subiaco (Roma)
- 143° Circolo didattico Spinaceto – via Frignani, Roma
The new programme will begin in the autumn with teacher training and updating courses, while the students will begin to participate in the journalism labs. Subsequently, each school will be free to custom tailor its didactic module based on the vast range of themes. The results will be exhibited and explained during a Thematic Week entirely dedicated to this project and open to the entire city. The projects fair will be accompanied by a series of meetings with experts, a scientific theatre, activities and interactive laboratories for schools.
