Social4Stem, the first lab for women organised by Fondazione Mondo Digitale was a success. The FMD is a partner of Binario F, the new Facebook facility for developing digital skills [see news: Binario F Inaugurated].
In the educational event dedicated to coding, the first in a series of events for “Vagone FMD. Da 01 a 100,” 32 young women from the Rome Liceo Niccolò Machiavelli and the Velletri Istituto Ugo Tognazzi participated in an event showing that computation thought is not a male prerogative.
Forming small teams under the supervision of Coach Lara Forgione, the students put aside their initial shyness and enthusiastically experimented with the Scratch coding language, creating an original cartoon story.
Ilaria Bonanni, who is beginning to work on digital storytelling, participated on behalf of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
