“Citizens need to develop antibodies that will help them recognise misinformation, disinformation and fake news. This issue had already been brought to the forefront by the pandemic. Now, the war in Ukraine has its own misinformation. We shifted from managing the infodemic of the health emergency to that of the war. We must intensify educational and awareness-raising actions, helping educational communities to orient themselves independently. This is an issue on which school have – or should have – a fundamental role.”

 

Mirta Michilli, who directs the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, addresses the issue of school during the emergency with an article on forumpa.it, the on-line journal of FPA. In just a few lines, she explains concrete experiences that are helping educational communities to orient themselves amidst the sea of information and news. We have recently inserted short fact-checking sessions in various educational programmes focusing on a series of different issues, from health to on-line security, with encouraging results.” She mentions Be Internet Awesome and Factor J.
