Saetta, the iPhone-controlled Robot

The iPhone can be used as a joystick to control a team of robots thanks to an application developed by the Department of IT and Automation of the Università Roma Tre. This is a feature that could be used in a many different situations ranging from geo-referencing to emergency situations that employ rescue robots.

One of the department professors, Stefano Panzieri, will present the robot called Saetta at the fourth edition of the RomeCup 2010, which this year, features a vast programme, including an exhibition area to showcase Italian cases of excellence in robotics and research on artificial intelligence.
