Five Italian teams are in Brazil competing in the three competition categories (soccer, rescue and dance) held as part of RoboCup Junior, the World Robotics Championships for first- and second-degree secondary schools. The five Italian teams were selected at the RomeCup 2014 competitions.
The 5 Italian teams:
• Manetti Soccer Team - IIS Manetti, Grossetto
• Marconi New Football Team - IIS Marconi-Galletti, Domodossola
• SPQR Levis - IIS Galileo Galilei, Rome
• Cardano Robotix Team - IIS Piazza della Resistenza, Monterotondo
• Democrito Team - Liceo Democrito, Rome
Students from over 40 countries are currently competing in the Robotics World Championships, which are underway in João Pessoa (July 19-25). The competitions are based on robots that are programmed to dance, play soccer and carry out rescue activities in dangerous situations.
