The G.B. Grassi di Uggiate Trevano first degree secondary school in the province of Como, has been awared the eContent Award Italy 2009 prize for the best digital content in the “Young Talents – Create Your Culture” Category. The awards ceremony, which was held in Rome on November 24, 2009, presented awards to 35 digital services and products created in Italy.
These students will officially represent Italy in the young talent category at the next edition of the World Summit Award.
The school earned this prestigious award for its Chocolat3b.podomatic.com on-line a platform, a tool encompassing a wealth of multimedia applications to express ideas and values, s hare information and promote multi-lingualism by preserving knowledge and local traditions.
The eContentAward project was designed and organized by the Fondazione Politecnico di Milano and Medici Framework as part of the World Summit Award, under the aegis of the UN and ITU and with the subsequent recognition by the Global Alliance ICT for Development.
The Grandparents on the Internet Project began at this school on November 26. The Project, created by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, employs students as tutors to teach the elderly how to use PCs, navigate on-line and, thanks to the specific skills of these students, create podcasts.
