Phyrtual.org in Beta

 

An interactive on-line environment to share knowledge and socialise through experiences to allow everyone to actively participate in the process of integration and overcome the digital divide. This is Phyrtual.org and will soon be launched by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale on the basis of a time-proven method: sharing activities. Each subject helps sustain others, every type of content exploits new technology to be made available to everyone and each individual contributes to the process of social innovation on which the Fondazione Mondo Digitale has been working for years.

 

Phyrtual.org will be all of this and more. It aims to overcome the problem of fragmentation and share good practices by creating a phyrtual community. It’s not just a social network, but also an innovative on-line learning environment that is enriched by all the digital and social elements that compose it.

 

All the resources and knowledge that the Fondazione Mondo Digitale has acquired over the years (i.e. didactic material and interactive lessons) will be available on-line. Users will be not only users, but also active protagonists in the development of this platform and will be able to contribute to improving it, participate in projects, share creative and innovative ideas with colleagues and friends and join a community centring around specific issues reaching far beyond regional and national boundaries.

 

Ten Roman schools whose students will become the first animators of this on-line learning environment attended the initial presentation of Phyrtual at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale Office. Alfonso Molina, who envisaged this site and is the Scientific Director of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale explains the significance of the project: “This on-line learning environment is a form of social innovation in which all interested parties – students, elderly and teachers – who have been working with us for so many years will be able to register and choose the role they prefer: simple users, developers, etc.”
