The Fondazione Mondo Digitale has launched a contest with three calls [see Phyrtual Factory Contest] to attract young men and women, makers, creatives and professionals to the youth pre-accelerator project: CALL4IDEAS and CALL4INTEREST for young men and women, CALL4PRO for professionals.
The deadline has been extended by one month to December 15, 2016.
The for young men and women (CALL4IDEAS and CALL4INTEREST) will select up to 160 candidates for a presentation elevator pitch (max. 2 minutes) that will allow a jury of experts and coaches to select the 40 most motivated participants to compose ten work teams.
The CALL4PRO addresses professionals in various fields who are interested in developing projects with young men and women (even their own project ideas). The original contest will allow the selection of committed teams and interesting creative solutions.
After the initial phase, ten work teams will be selected (each composed of four young men/women and one or more professionals selected through the CALL4PRO). The teams will work together for six months to develop a project and prototype in an extraordinary environment to quickly transform a project into a product concept.
The teams will be formed based on vocation, competences, ideas and projects. They will participate in common educational phases (team building, problem solving, business, technical aspects, etc.) and then work on the selected project.
All participants will have access to the Phyrtual Factory:
- Digital manufacturing labs and tools to quickly transform their project idea into a prototype concept
- Software, tools, equipment and avant-garde methodologies
- Coaches and mentors
- Co-working spaces with Wi-Fi
- Virtual environments to share ideas and projects
The six months of common work include:
- Team coaching on ideas/projects
- Meetings (Dec-May)
- Workshops and labs (team building, problem solving, business plans, crowdfunding etc.)
- Periodic assessments with team leaders
- Co-working spaces
- Tech labs available 3 days a week (including weekends)
- Creative evenings with experts and professionals
- Constant support from staff at FMD
The final event will be held in June 2017 with the selection of the winning team that will receive a €3000 prize and the opportunity to continue using all the services at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym for free for an entire year.
