Parents on the Internet

Parents on the Internet

The initiative is promoted as part of the Città Educativa Project and managed by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale thanks to the contribution by Roma Capitale, Family, Education and Youth Section of the Educational and School Department as part of the “Cabina di Regia” Bill no. 285/97 (www.cittaeducativa.roma.it).

The activities that have been proposed involve school administrators, teachers, students and families on the analysis of didactic methodologies that involve the use of new technology, both at home and at school. Beginning with a survey of the ICT needs of schools and families, the project promotes a series of training meetings – based on the intergenerational learning model – to create opportunities for dialogue and a better understanding between parents and children, starting from school.

Together with their parents, the students learn how to use the web, social networks, PCs and digital tools in a safe and conscientious manner, tools that are fun to the students, but often problematic for their parents. Parents will be able to gain more insight into their children’s world and educate and speak with them in a language that is more in tune with their true passions.

Parents on the Internet will be presented at the Rome Città Educativa in April.

In order to efficiently survey the needs and opportunities and participate in a project, we have prepared a questionnaire that parents can download, fill out and send to info@mondodigitale.org by March 10 2013.
