On May 3, for the inaugural day of Everyone on the Internet, Itis Fermi held a videoconference with the Romanian City of Iassi with the Romanian elders attending the digital literacy courses coordinated by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
Headmaster Monica Nanetti, who emphasized the efforts of the school towards and inclusive knowledge society, opened the event. She pointed out that school must address everyone, it must train everyone and leave no one behind: “Not One,” the headmaster underlined.
Fondazione Mondo Digitale Director Mirta Michilli thanked the school, all those who worked on the Grandparents on the Internet Project and addressed the children in particular to highlight the educational aspects of the project.
Ever since the first edition Grandparents on the Internet, Prof. Paola Magionesi, who has spent most of her life at the school, has coordinated the courses. First as a student, receiving her diploma in 1974 and then since 1979 as a Computer teacher. Her skills and dedication, year after year, have helped improve the course contents and optimize the learning processes for the over-sixties that have returned to school.
