The theme of the new edition of the CS First Contest diversity, in all its dimensions, but with a specific focus on disability and special needs, a crucial challenge for schools during the health emergency [see news: CS First Becomes a Challenge].
Thanks to the simplicity of block coding and visual representations, CS First drives concentration and problem solution, stimulating collaborative work (even at a distance) and promoting learning and the active participation of all students, even the most fragile ones.
Three awards will be presented to promote diversity:
- Best storytelling project
- Best animation project
- Best coding project for an interactive videogame
The presentation of the selected projects and the awards to the winning ones will be held on the Graduation Day, an on-line event that will be held on December 10-13, 2020. Participants include Alessandro Bogliolo, Professor of Information Processing Systems at the University of Urbino, Coordinator of the EU CodeWeek and a member of the “Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition” Governing Board.
Projects may be submitted until November 20 to corsi@mondodigitale.org.
Moreover, the CS First MOOC is still available on-line. The MOOC includes 8 one-hour lessons on the many platform activities and coding as a tool for teaching. Narration, music, art, videogames and more explained by Alessandro Bogliolo. Upon completion of the course, teachers will receive a 24-hour certification.
