Project Meet No Neet kicks off with ever more ambitious objectives. The third edition of the project addresses young men and women who gravitate beyond the country’s educational and productive processes: nearly two and a half million young men and women aged 15-29.
In Italy, the presence of NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training) is markedly higher than in the rest of the EU28 (26% vs. 15.9%) and with significantly greater values than Germany (8.7%), France (13.8%) and the United Kingdom (14.7%). The prolonged absence of this group from the educational system and labour market makes their reinsertion all the more complicated.
The NEET condition is only partially related to unemployment. In Italy, in fact, there is growing alarm over a new category of inactive individuals, who have given up and have stopped looking for employment, while there are enterprises that still cannot find the human resources they require.
Project Meet No Neet, part of the global Microsoft YouthSpark Programme, aims to prevent and contrast this phenomenon starting from school.
The project entails technological, social and entrepreneurial training to allow young men and women to access the working world more easily and acquire the skills that are necessary to live and work in the 21st century.
The Life Education Model, which moulds knowledge, skills and values, allows school classes participating in the project to experience a unique social planning contest that trains the youth to acquire self-awareness, problem-solving skills and creativity to spark new innovative ideas that are beneficial to the entire community.

Five students, representing five innovative ideas, have accepted the challenge of illustrating their project in a just a few minutes – in an elevator pitch with possible donors – to real donors and investors!
