Mobile Citizens

Are you an EU citizen in a different member state? Every EU citizen has the right to work and live in another member state without suffering discrimination for their nationality, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.

The free circulation of people is one of the fundamental liberties guaranteed by the European Union Treaty (Articles 3, 39 and 40) and community regulations.

A greater mobility of workers contributes to economic and social progress, to a higher level of employment and the achievement of balanced, sustainable development. It allows the European economy, employment and workers to adapt to more flexibly and efficiently to the rapidly changing global scenario and competition, promoting a tighter political integration of the EU.

However, it is not always easy to orient oneself whilst travelling. What are my rights? What services can I access? How can practical obstacles be overcome when looking for housing, a job, health assistance and a better quality of life? The answer is Eureka! [see news: Free Circulation].

The EUReKA portal and app provide easy on-line access to practical information, assistance and geolocalised services in six member states (Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Romania) with a multilingual approach.

All the key information necessary to exercise all of your free circulation rights are now available at key4mobility.eu.

EUReKA – A Key Access to EU Rights” is funded by the European Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme – REC (GA826666) and is coordinated by the Centro Studi e Ricerche IDOS. The “EU Mobile Citizens Go Digital” handbook, the portal and the “Key4mobility” app are a result of the work conducted by Italian (ACLI Italia and Patronato ACLI, Fondazione Mondo Digitale, ANCI Lazio), German (the German ACLI Office), Romanian (Institutul European din Romania, Novapolis, Cartel ALFA), Croatian (Zagreb Grad), French and Portuguese (Tandem Plus) partners.
