Managing Change

When we have to change things rapidly due to an emergency, technology can help us shorten distances and leave no one behind. At the Milan Digital Week (May 25-30), the Fondazione Mondo Digitale will present a “phyrtual” course in collaboration with companies and important organisations to help people orient themselves around all these transformations. Digital tools for personal, community and social change, and with a focus on women changemakers.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale will participate in the Milan Digital Week, the platform of events promoted by the City of Milan (May 25-30) with a rich programme of on-line initiatives for 600 students, teachers and parents to explore the potential of digital tools to face crucial challenges and manage the transformations underway.

The health emergency is revealing how flexibility to change represents a fundamental 21st-century skill, from distance learning to distance rehabilitation services and the role of women for inclusive and sustainable development. In partnership with major companies and organisations, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale will host 13 "on-life" appointments, original activities and labs to discover how a safe and conscientious use of technology can help us to experiment with original alternatives and, indeed, represent a true social, economic and cultural accelerator for the country.

Students will be able to enjoy webinars organised for Factor J, a project promoted in collaboration with Janssen Italia to help young men and women develop emotional intelligence, respect and empathy towards individuals affected by diseases and acquire useful tools to understand health emergencies. Thanks to Microsoft and Programme Ambizione Italia for Schools, young men and women can explore the opportunities provided by artificial intelligence and, thanks to Facebook Italy, learn to be on-line responsibly and conscientiously in this period of physical distancing.

With Google we are involving teachers and parents in webinars on on-line safety and custom-tailored distance learning courses on the Computer Science First. The issue of inclusion will be addressed through a meeting with the Fondazione Don Gnocchi to learn about distance rehabilitation services, which integrate virtual reality exercises with an on-line therapist for ad hoc clinical protocols.

The Dell “Digital Futures” Programme was conceived to help students to reassess the role of technology in their professional future with a focus on equal opportunities.

The issue of gender equality is also dedicated to Science in Movement. New Energy in Pink for the Future, a live story promoted as part of Project CO.ME – Code&Frame in collaboration with ENI. Female scientists, coaches, managers and programmes will present themselves to a public of young women to encourage them to pursue their dreams and passions, beyond gender stereotypes. Speakers include Roberta Cocco, Milan Digital Transformation and Civic Services Councillor and Milena Bertolini, head coach of the national female football team.
