The Fab Lab at the FMD Phyrtual Innovation Gym will participate in the European Maker Week that will be held in the EU’s 28 member states from May 30 to June 5, 2016. The project, which is promoted by the European Commission, StartUp Europe and the Maker Faire Rome aims to promote maker culture and the maker movement throughout Europe.
The Phyrtual Innovation Gym will begin activities on the week of May 28. Here’s the programme:
Saturday, May 28
TEACHERS VS MAKERS
10 am-1 pm and 2-5 pm
Competition on ideas for future didactics
What can one learn in a fab lab? Which didactic activities can take place in a fab lab? How can learning processes be improved? Makers and teachers work on designing the school of the future, starting with fab lab activities.
AWARDS
5-6 pm
At the end of the day, teachers and makers will present their results and decide, together with the audience, which the best project is. The event will end with the presentation of an award to the most interesting project.
ROBOT EMOTIONS
3:30 – 6:00 pm
A lab for creating “emotive” robots: students will develop small, personalized robots with the help of the laser cutter and digital design software.
Wednesday, June 1
6-8 pm
At the same time as every other fab lab in Italy, the protagonists will explain their project in 10 minutes, presenting the idea and a prototype. This will be followed by a debate.
FINAL BEER
The event will end with an aperitif provided by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
